Course "Mitigating the impact of climate change"

Through the Global Development Learning Network (GDLN), the Training Center for Professionalism and Foreign Languages accessed the course on Climate Change Mitigation by KDI (KDI School of Management and Public Policy - Korea) in collaboration with Blended Learning International under GDLN.

The course is held online. Course time: from June 14, 2022 to July 19, 2022 on every Tuesday.

The Program coordinator was Professor Glenn Withers, from the Australian National University (ANU), Chair of the Board of Directors of the Global Learning and Development Network (GDLN) and the Program advisor is Professor Greg Austin, from International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) - Singapore. The language used in the course is entirely in English. The course fee for each student was 655 USD. However, the KDI School of Management and Public Policy fully funded the course through the consideration of scholarship applications of applicants from branches of the Global Learning Network (GDLN).

The course content included topics such as: Identifying existing climate challenges; National Policies on Climate Change Mitigation; Disturbance in rural areas and remote communities: the cases of East Africa and the Arabian Peninsula; Adaptation and Mitigation in Health and Wellness; Future strategies and scenarios.

Realizing that the course " Climate Change Mitigation" would provide a lot of practical and useful information for experts and researchers in Ho Chi Minh City, the Development Learning Center under the HCMC Cadre Academy officials registered and deployed this course to cadres and specialists of the Department of Science and Technology, the City's Institute of Economic Research and Development, and the Department of Natural Resources and Environment.

The result was 3 cadres were granted scholarships for participating in the course.
